Terms of Use
These terms set out your rights and responsibilities, and ours, when you use Ayanur. How your personal data is processed is explained separately in the Privacy Policy.
Contents
1. Parties and acceptance
These terms govern the use of the Ayanur mobile app and the ayanur.app website (“Ayanur”). Ayanur is provided by Ayanur.app (“we”, “us”), 2 Nolu Erdoğdu Mahallesi, Ortahisar, Trabzon, Türkiye. Contact: support@ayanur.app.
By downloading and using the app you accept these terms. If you don’t accept them, don’t use the app. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
2. What Ayanur is
Ayanur is a spiritual companion offering prayer times and notifications, the qibla, Quran reading and listening, translations of the meanings, hadiths, duas, the Beautiful Names of Allah, a dhikr counter, the Hijri calendar, widgets, Quran completion and dhikr circles and similar tools. Some features also work without an internet connection.
3. Account
You don’t need an account to use Ayanur. Your settings and records are stored on your phone. If you change phones, these records don’t move to the new phone unless you restore your phone’s own backup (iCloud or Google backup); you can bring back your Premium purchases with “Restore purchases”.
4. Free features and Premium
The essentials of worship are always free and never tied to Premium: prayer times, prayer notifications and the adhan sound, the qibla, Quran reading and listening, duas, hadiths, the Beautiful Names, the dhikr counter, the Hijri calendar, spiritual reminders, and the Feed with free backgrounds and the three brand themes.
Premium covers: all home screen, lock screen and dhikr widgets and the Widget Studio; Premium-marked backgrounds (images and videos); all themes; watermark-free and animated sharing; collections; alternative app icons; audio content.
Some of these features are not ready yet; they are marked “Coming soon” or “In a later version” on the purchase screen and unlock with Premium at no extra cost once they are ready. Before you buy, the purchase screen shows which features are available today. We may expand Premium over time. We will not later make a feature from the free essentials paid. If your subscription ends, your widgets are not removed; they show that they come with Premium.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
5.1 Plans and prices
- Monthly Premium: ₺19.99 / month. 3-day free trial for eligible users. Renews automatically every month.
- Yearly Premium: ₺199.99 / year. No trial. Renews automatically every year.
- Lifetime Premium: ₺499.99, one-time payment. Not a subscription; does not renew.
- Yearly Premium, exit offer (5.7): ₺99.99 for the first year, then ₺199.99 / year. No trial. Renews automatically every year.
These are list prices for Turkey. The price that applies is the amount shown on the purchase screen and confirmed in the store’s payment sheet; outside Turkey, the store’s price and currency for that country apply. Taxes are applied under the store’s rules and applicable law. The lifetime plan may not always be offered; while it isn’t shown on the purchase screen, it can’t be bought.
5.2 Payment
Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) takes the payment, using the payment method of your store account. You are charged when you confirm the purchase in the store’s payment sheet; for a subscription that starts with a free trial, the first charge is made when the trial ends. Your card or payment details never reach us. Purchases are also subject to the store’s own terms.
5.3 Free trial
- The 3-day free trial is offered only on the monthly plan. If the store finds you ineligible (for example, because you already used a trial or an introductory price for this subscription), no trial is shown.
- You are not charged on the day you start the trial. When the trial ends, unless you have cancelled, you are charged ₺19.99 per month and the subscription renews automatically every month.
- If you don’t want to be charged, cancel in the store at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- If you allowed notifications, we send a reminder at least 48 hours before the trial ends. This reminder is a courtesy; it may not arrive because of your phone’s settings. The trial end date is also shown on the Premium screen.
- If you cancel during the trial, under the store’s rules Premium usually stays on until the end of the trial period.
- If you buy another plan (for example yearly or lifetime) during the trial, under the store’s rules the rest of the trial may be forfeited.
5.4 Auto-renewal
Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the end of each period until you cancel. The renewal fee is charged to your store account under the store’s rules: on the App Store within the 24 hours before the period ends, on Google Play on the renewal date. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, you won’t be charged for the next period.
5.5 Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription only in the store; deleting the app does not cancel it.
- iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Ayanur.
- Android: Play Store › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Ayanur.
The “Manage subscription” link on the Premium screen in the app also takes you there. When you cancel, Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
5.6 Refunds
- App Store: Only Apple issues refunds. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Apple Support. We cannot refund App Store purchases.
- Google Play: Google Play’s refund policy applies; you can request a refund through Google Play shortly after purchase. For requests outside that window, write to support@ayanur.app; we will review your request and reply by email. An approved refund is made through Google Play.
Your statutory refund and consumer rights remain unaffected.
5.7 Exit offer
If you have never had Premium before (including a trial), you may see a limited-time offer for the yearly plan when you close a purchase screen you opened yourself, or cancel in the store’s payment sheet: ₺99.99 for the first year, then ₺199.99 per year. The offer is valid for 1 hour; the time left is shown on screen, is not extended and does not restart. The offer is shown at most once every 30 days; it is not shown during first-run setup or when the app opens. The store’s own eligibility rules also apply. If you don’t accept the offer, none of your features are turned off.
5.8 Price changes
We may change the subscription price. The change starts from the next period after the store has notified you in advance; where the store’s rules require it, you will be asked to agree to the new price. If you don’t agree, or you cancel, the subscription ends at the end of the current period.
5.9 Restoring and changing devices
Your Premium purchase is tied to your store account. On another phone signed in to the same store account, use “Restore purchases” on the purchase screen to bring Premium back. App Store purchases don’t carry over to Google Play, and Google Play purchases don’t carry over to the App Store.
5.10 Right of withdrawal
Because purchases and payments are made through the App Store or Google Play, withdrawal and refund requests are first handled through the store’s own processes.
- Turkey: Your right of withdrawal under Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the Regulation on Distance Contracts remains to the extent provided by law. Premium is unlocked the moment you buy it; the free trial lets you try Premium before you pay.
- EU/EEA: Your withdrawal rights under the consumer law of your country of residence remain unaffected. Apple’s and Google’s refund and withdrawal practices in the EU also apply.
If the store rejects a request that you believe you are entitled to by law, write to support@ayanur.app.
6. Religious content and sources
- The Arabic text of the Quran comes from a reliable source whose licence permits its use (Tanzil Project) and is shown verbatim.
- Translations of the meanings are human translations whose licences permit their use. Translations are never generated or shortened by AI. If a verse does not fit a widget, it is not shortened; it is not shown at that widget size.
- Hadiths come from verified datasets with their references (book, number and, where possible, grading). AI does not write hadith text, and no saying is invented and attributed to the Prophet or the Companions.
- Duas are shown with their Quran or hadith reference.
- Short texts labelled “Saying” are original texts by the Ayanur team. AI drafting help may be used while preparing them; each one is approved by a person before publication. Sayings are not religious sources and are not attributed to anyone.
- All sources the app uses, with their authors and licences, are listed on the Settings › Sources and licences screen in the app. The sources used by the ayanur.app website are in the “Sources and licences” window in the footer of the home page.
- Ayanur is not a fatwa authority or a religious services institution. The information in the app is for general guidance; consult a qualified scholar or an official body before making a religious decision. Links to publications of the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) or any other institution are given as references; we have no affiliation with, or endorsement from, these institutions.
7. Prayer times, qibla, calendar and calculators
- Prayer times are calculated on your phone from the calculation method you choose and your location. There may be differences of a few minutes from official calendars; the app lets you adjust by minutes. Especially for sensitive times such as imsak and iftar, also check the official calendar for where you are.
- The qibla direction depends on your phone’s compass sensor; magnetic fields, cases and calibration can skew it. The direction is an aid and makes no claim of precision.
- The Hijri calendar is calculated; it may differ by a day from official announcements based on moon sighting. You can adjust it by days on the Calendar screen.
- The zakat calculator and similar tools are not fatwas; results depend on the values you enter.
- Find a mosque shows data entered by OpenStreetMap volunteers; entries may be missing or wrong.
- The weather (optional) shows MET Norway’s forecast; forecasts can change and can be wrong.
- Notifications are scheduled on your phone. They may be delayed or not arrive because of battery saving, silent mode, manufacturer restrictions (for example on some Android devices) or permissions. Prayer notifications are a reminder; keeping track of prayer times is your responsibility.
8. Intellectual property and licences
The Ayanur name, the Nûn logo, and the app’s design, code, original texts and images belong to us or are used under licence. We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable right to use Ayanur for personal, non-commercial purposes in line with these terms.
Third-party content (Quran text, translations, hadiths, fonts, photos, map and weather data, recitation audio) is subject to its own licence; details are on the “Sources and licences” screen.
9. Rules of use
When using Ayanur, do not:
- use the app, its content packages or our servers for bulk downloading, scraping or moving content into another product;
- reverse-engineer or modify the app, or try to bypass Premium restrictions, except where the law expressly allows it;
- overload our servers or try to break their security;
- change the source of content on share cards, or present a “Saying” or any other text as a verse, a hadith or the words of a person;
- use circles or the dedication line for advertising, insults, harassment or unlawful content;
- use Ayanur for any unlawful purpose.
If you break these rules, we may stop providing the service to you; we may close an inappropriate circle or remove its dedication.
10. Third-party services
For some tasks Ayanur connects to or links to third-party services: the App Store and Google Play (purchases), RevenueCat (subscription infrastructure), Instagram and TikTok (posts in the Videos section, opened on the platform), OpenStreetMap and Overpass (Find a mosque), Apple Maps and Google Maps (directions), MET Norway (weather), EveryAyah.com and the Quran and Prayer portals of Turkey’s Presidency of Religious Affairs (recitation, translation and dua audio), Diyanet Radyo, Diyanet Kur’an Radyo and the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (live streams) and source websites. These services are responsible for their own content, broadcasts and practices; their own terms and privacy policies apply. Live streams belong to their broadcasters; Ayanur doesn’t record or alter them.
11. Continuity of the service and changes
We may add, change or remove features to improve Ayanur. If a content provider stops its service, the related content (for example a translation or a stream) may no longer be updated or may be replaced. If we remove a paid feature, we will inform you in line with the store’s rules and the law.
Lifetime Premium unlocks the Premium features with no time limit, on the store account you bought it with, for as long as Ayanur is offered. If we decide to end Ayanur entirely, we will announce it in the app and on the website a reasonable time in advance; your statutory rights remain unaffected in that case.
12. Liability
We build Ayanur with care, but we cannot guarantee that the app will work without interruption or errors. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damage arising from deviations in prayer times, the qibla direction or notifications caused by the device, its sensors or the operating system, or from outages of third-party services. Our liability for intent and gross negligence, and your rights under consumer law, remain unaffected.
13. Terms relating to Apple
If you use the app on an iPhone:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- You may use the app only on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Use.
- We are responsible for maintenance and support; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.
- If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any). To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- We, not Apple, handle any product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property infringement claims relating to the app.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- When using the app, you must also comply with the terms of any third-party services you use with it (for example your mobile data or wireless network provider).
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. If you are a consumer, you can apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee where you live or where the transaction took place, within the monetary limits announced each year, and to the Consumer Court above those limits. For consumers living in the EU/EEA, the mandatory consumer protection rules of their country of residence and their right to go to the courts of that country remain unaffected. For users who are not consumers, the general rules of jurisdiction apply.
15. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will announce important changes in the app or on the website before they take effect. Continuing to use Ayanur after a change means you accept the new terms. If you don’t accept a change, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription; Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for. If a change narrows a paid right of yours, the notice and consent rules of the store and the law apply.
